Un brillant lycéen de 17 ans, James Hoffman, a disparu. L'affaire est relancée lorsque sa soeur cadette, Alexa, tombe par hasard sur une vidéo circulant sur Internet. On peut y voir son frère se faire battre par un jeune homme portant un tatouage, un symbole anarchiste sur le bras. Il y a d'autres jeunes hommes autour des deux combattants. Elle affirme à Lilly et Kat que James n'était pas bagarreur.
